Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) nurse is based in Athens, Texas, and is responsible for supporting surgical procedures within a facility that serves adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The role involves providing specialized perioperative care, ensuring patient safety during complex surgeries, and adhering to facility protocols. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts from 06:30 to 15:00, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state or compact license must be in hand at the time of submittal. Minimum 1.5 years of perioperative experience, travel experience required, and experience with Epic (Electronic Medical Record) system.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion, Colorectal Robotic Surgery, Neuro, Vascular, and Urology procedures is highly desirable. Experience with DaVinci Robots, endovascular, and eye surgeries is a bonus.
• Special Procedures/Unit Details: Shifts are 8 hours with a rotating day off; call requirements are minimal, typically 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks.
• Travel Requirements: Prior charge experience of 2 years and Trauma Level I experience are required. Travel experience is necessary.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Additional Information: UT does not contract travelers residing in the following counties: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris. Onboarding requires completion of core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing. All RTO (Request for Time Off) must be listed at the time of submittal.
