Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) for a facility located in Athens, Texas. The position involves providing comprehensive maternity care in a Labor and Delivery Department, supporting both Neonates and Adults. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Athens, Texas
• Position: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D)
• Shift Details: Nights, 3x12 hours (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
• Schedule: 36 hours per week minimum
• Experience: 0 years of experience required; 2 years preferred. Travel experience required. Previous charge experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
• Required Qualifications: Valid license in state or compact license at time of submittal, Certifications listed above, 0 years of experience, travel experience required, proficiency with Epic electronic medical record system, experience in Labor and Delivery units involving a patient census of 100-200 births per month.
• Clinical Skills: Administration of blood and blood products, amnioinfusion, antepartum and postpartum care, assisting with high-risk deliveries, sterile speculum exams, vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, fetal monitoring (external and internal), neonatal assessments, and various obstetrical procedures.
• Additional Job Information:
  • Patient Care: Neonates and adults, with daily census of 14 patients and 14 rooms.
  • Interdisciplinary Support: Physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation.
  • Unit Details: Support for high-risk pregnancies, labor, delivery, and postpartum care with a focus on safety and patient education.
  • Onboarding: Complete core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing. Modules are non-billable and completed onsite during orientation.
  • Restrictions: UT does not contract travelers residing in specified counties. Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as travelers.
