Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Seattle, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care in a Level 2 NICU within a facility that integrates a Special Care Nursery and postpartum services. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day and should have experience attending deliveries as the baby nurse. The position involves working night shifts with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Job Details:

  • Required Qualifications: RN license, certifications including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS); minimum of 2 years of experience; experience attending deliveries as the baby nurse; skilled in IV start and maintenance, Bubble CPAP, Hiflow, umbilical line placement assist and maintenance; willing to wait for license submission.
  • Additional Qualifications: Experience with phototherapy, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, withdrawal, sepsis; ability to manage transdermal drips such as D5W and TPN; proficiency in titrating drips.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, manage respiratory equipment (CPAP, Bipap, Hiflow, Vent), provide neonatal stabilization, and work within a flexible department that covers both NICU and postpartum care.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required due to department structure.
  • Orientation: 3 nights of unit-specific orientation with staff.
  • Equipment: CPAP, Bipap, Hiflow, Vent prior to transfer.
  • Additional notes: The role does not require telemetry or monitor techs; RNs do not read strips.
