Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Edmonds, Washington
The organization is seeking a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN for a night shift assignment. Responsibilities include providing high-acuity patient care with competencies related to respiratory support, cardiac monitoring and management, and pre/post procedural care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights; 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Registered nursing license; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); experience requirements as stated in the posting (2 years listed); prior Epic charting experience; ability to provide care appropriate for adult and geriatric patients; comfort with required PCU skill set including BiPAP/CPAP management and cardiac/telemetry-related responsibilities.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience (as listed in the posting).
- Additional Information: This role is for an IMU Level RN position within the Progressive Care Unit environment. Staffing ratios listed in the posting include 1:4 for Telemetry patients and 1:3 for IMU patients. Pre/post cardiac cath experience and BiPAP/CPAP related care are required skill areas per the posting. Floating to other units and campuses may be required within the scope of practice. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary.
- Certifications/Skills Emphasis (from the posting): BiPAP/CPAP management; breathing treatments; obtaining 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG); central line and PICC care/management; care related to PCA, feeding tubes, drains, wound vac; management of cardioversion/defibrillation; cooling/warming blanket; procedural sedation administration/monitoring; telemetry; interpretation of dysrhythmias; and pre/post cardiac cath responsibilities.
- Submission Requirements: Two references covering 1 year (with the postings exception for CNAs as applicable) within the last 3 years during the compliance process and prior to start; references may include charge nurses/lead modules.
