Job Summary:
The position is for a Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician role in Alexandria, Virginia. This healthcare professional will be responsible for assisting in a busy surgical environment across multiple specialties. Candidates are required to bring their active Virginia License on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

Certifications and Experience: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, and an active Virginia license are required at the time of application. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Thoracic, Trauma, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedic, and Robotics surgeries.
Schedule: 8-hour shifts from 07:00 am to 03:30 pm, working days only with weekend and on-call shifts as scheduled.
Specialty Skills: Familiarity with cases involving orthopedics (total joints, sports medicine, fractures), neurological (spine, cranial procedures, tumor resections, brain biopsies), maxillofacial, ENT, plastics, vascular, colorectal, general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, breast surgeries.
Operational Details: Attendance at a 1-week orientation specific to the floor (2 weeks for night shifts). Caseload of approximately 25-35 cases daily across 11 surgical suites.
Additional Requirements: No electronic medical record access needed; on-call responsibilities include 5-6 shifts per week, covering overnight and weekend hours. The position entails working on scheduled holidays if within the contract timeframe.
Other Notes: The role is part of skills-based hiring, with no floating expectations. Candidates must have a clean record and possess all required certifications and license at the time of submittal.
