Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Portage, Wisconsin this position involves providing emergency nursing care in a busy ED setting. The role requires handling a diverse patient population with varying acuity levels, ensuring quality patient outcomes. Candidates are required to bring their Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Portage, Wisconsin
- Schedule: Rotating shifts; 12-hour days and nights with start times at 5 AM, 9 AM, 11 AM, and 5 PM; minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, Associate Degree or Certificate, 2+ years of Emergency Department experience, Epic electronic medical record experience, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications. Candidates must be able to manage change effectively, be resilient, assertive, confident, social, and team-oriented.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
- Float: Must be willing to float to other Aspirus locations such as Wisconsin Rapids, Plover, and Stevens Point.
- Additional Information:
- No requirements for additional on-call or backup shifts.
- Additional shifts may be available for sick calls or coverage.
- Guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays or unit closures.
- The contract includes up to 36 hours of unbillable low census hours.
- Travelers may be put on call for low census hours, which will count toward unbillable hours; callback pay applies with a minimum of 2 hours.
- During Flu Season, any traveler declining flu and COVID-19 vaccinations must wear masks at all times.
- Failure to adhere to vaccination policy will result in corrective action.
- Shift notes include rotating 12-hour shifts starting at 5 AM, 9 AM, 11 AM, or 5 PM.
