Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) registered nurse position located in Alexandria, Louisiana. The role involves providing high-acuity patient care in a fast-paced environment, managing a heavy caseload of strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis cases. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day.

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
    • RN License in state of employment or compact
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required from AHA
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required from AHA
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required from AHA
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card required
    • RN License in state of employment or compact
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
  • Additional Information:
    • Very high acuity unit with on-site security 24/7
    • Contractors will handle a heavy case load including strokes, cardiovascular, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, sepsis, and some trauma.
    • No floating is required.
    • Every other weekend work is required.
    • No on-call duties.
    • Approximately 4 patients per nurse ratio.
    • Involves independent clinical practice, complex patient care, and delegation.
    • Orientation and competency validations are required within the first 30 days and annually thereafter.
