Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse position available in Tacoma, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care to premature and high-risk neonatal patients in a Level II Childrens Hospital with a Level IV NICU. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Tacoma, Washington
  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid Washington state nursing license; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification; minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Level III or IV NICU; minimum of 0 years of experience considered, but 2 years preferred.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating between 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, with every other weekend rotation.
  • Required Qualifications: Washington state license; BLS and NRP certifications; 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience.
  • Additional Information: Consider first-time traveler; travel experience strongly preferred. NICU patients include prematurity down to 22 weeks gestation, respiratory distress syndrome, high-risk deliveries, NAS, and other complex conditions. EMR utilized is EPIC. Floating duties may include acting as a sitter in the emergency room, although rarely required. Block scheduling is possible but not guaranteed. NICU is part of a pediatric hospital attached to the adult hospital, with private rooms and overflow of the Level II nursery for feeders/growers.
