Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room Technician specializing in surgical procedures in Alexandria, Virginia. This position involves assisting with a variety of complex cases across multiple surgical specialties, including thoracic, trauma, neuro, spine, orthopedic, and robotic surgeries. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

Certifications: BLS (must be AHA), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) active VA License required at submittal.
Education and Experience: 2 or more years of experience in Thoracic, Trauma, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedic, and Robotics procedures.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, from 11:00 am to 11:30 pm, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: Common case types include orthopedic joints, neuro cranial procedures, maxillofacial, ENT, plastics, vascular, colo-rectal, general, gynecological, urology, podiatry, thoracic, and breast surgeries.
Setting: 11 surgical suites with approximately 25-35 cases per day.
Orientation: Floor-specific orientation for 1 week (2 weeks for night shift).
Shift Expectations: Days.
Weekend Expectations: Every other weekend.
On-Call: 5-6 shifts per week, including overnight and weekends, only if within the contract time frame.
Floating: None.
EMR: EPIC system.
