Job Summary:
A Sterile Processing Technician position is available in Bethpage, New York. This role involves providing sterile processing services at a busy state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center supporting multiple healthcare facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers. The candidate must bring their sterile processing certification on the first day of work. The position requires the ability to work evenings and every other weekend.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD, which must not expire during the assignment), and either two years of certified experience in a tertiary setting or one year of certified experience combined with four years of sterile processing technician experience in a tertiary setting.
• Responsibilities: Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and department protocols; operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam, and ethylene oxide sterilizers; adhere to instrument count sheets and ensure proper functionality of instruments; retrieve and decontaminate used trays and equipment; assist with inventory management; maintain a contaminant-free environment.
• Additional Information: The role requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, stand for long periods, and follow safety and operational protocols. Scrubs are provided and must be laundered at the facility; shoes, jewelry, hair, and beards must be covered; no nail polish allowed.
