Job Summary:
The Baltimore, Maryland-based position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The role involves providing advanced care for patients recovering from complex cardiac procedures, including surgeries, transplants, and device placements. Candidates must bring their nursing license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular
- Shift Hours: 12 hours, A/P rotation or straight PM shift; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: RN License; BLS; current experience with recovery of post-operative cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting; training and experience in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit receiving patients directly from the OR; experience with Ventilator, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Swan-Ganz catheter, Epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive medication titration, Level 1 Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Critical Care Certification; trauma course; Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system Epic endorsement.

- Additional Information: Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2. Candidates with prior employment in any Johns Hopkins system facility must be documented in the work history and note whether they are applying as a traveler, with at least one full year since last employment to qualify.
