Description
Job Summary:
An Operating Room Specialty Nurse with expertise in open heart surgical procedures is needed in Austin, Texas. This role involves working within the cardiovascular operating room to support various complex surgical cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers a schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week, with on-call duty one weeknight per week and one weekend per month.
Job Details:
- Location: Austin, Texas
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week. Shift hours are from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Required Qualifications: Candidates must have cardiovascular operating room surgical technologist (CVOR CST) experience. Certifications, education requirements, and at least 0 years of experience are necessary.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repairs or replacements, endovascular aneurysm repair (AAA), arteriovenous fistula creation, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and similar complex cardiovascular surgeries.
- Additional Information: The unit is equipped with surgical instruments, bovie cautery, EVH video towers, laparoscopic towers, surgical tourniquets, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) consoles, Impella consoles, cryo systems, and patient warming/cooling systems. The unit utilizes Meditech electronic medical records.
- Typical procedures performed include CABG, valve procedures, AAA repairs, AV fistula revisions, hemodialysis catheter placements, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), balloon atrial septostomy (BBT), TAVR, TMVR, and MitraClip.
- The ideal candidate is mature, team-oriented, flexible with schedules, helpful, punctual, and maintains good attendance.
- Scrubs are provided, and scrubs should be of the designated color.
- No current open positions for CVOR registered nurses; only permanent CVOR CST positions are available.
