Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) registered nurse in Reston, Virginia. This role involves providing specialized care to post-surgical cardiac patients in a newly launched cardiac surgery program. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Reston, Virginia
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH)
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, including 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 1-2 years of experience caring for fresh cardiac surgery patients with direct primary recovery; certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); proficiency in Balloon pump, Impella training, and Hemosphere or Acumen training; experience with Meditech Expanse electronic medical record system.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a cardiac surgery unit with new program launch.
- Additional Information: The unit has 4 beds with patient ratios of 1:1 immediately post-surgical and 1:2 for patients on postoperative days 1-3. The department utilizes Meditech Expanse documentation system and maintains specific unit policies and guidelines.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
