Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Operating Room (OR) in Hobbs, New Mexico. This position involves providing perioperative nursing care, assisting with a variety of surgical procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical experience. Candidates are required to bring their valid state license on the first day. The role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment with a focus on diverse surgical specialties.
Job Details:
- Location: Hobbs, New Mexico
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, on-call 1-2 days per week Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:30 AM, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license must be in hand at submission), at least 2 years of operating room nursing experience, travel experience, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with anesthesia administration, intraoperative monitoring, and familiarity with Epic electronic charting system.
- Additional Information:
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day.
- Candidates should have experience with a broad range of surgical procedures including amputations, ligament reconstructions, laparoscopic procedures, and trauma.
- Knowledge of infection control, radiation safety, and universal protocols is required.
- The role requires working in a short-term acute care setting with approximately 5-6 patients daily.
- Candidates must include two references covering 1 year (6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years, during the compliance process and prior to start.
- Vaccinations: Not required for COVID-19; flu vaccination status is unknown.
- Travel experience is required, and the candidate must be willing to work in Hobbs, NM, with no more than 50 miles from the local radius.
