Job Summary:
The home health hospice nurse manager position is based in South Portland, Maine. This assignment involves providing hospice care to patients in their homes, with an immediate start date of July 6, 2026. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role offers a dynamic environment with support from a clinical manager lead and a supportive team, focusing on patients with diagnoses such as oncology, dementia, Alzheimers disease, end-stage congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and neurological conditions.
Job Details:
- Location: South Portland, Maine
- Specialty: Home Health Hospice
- Schedule: Two options are available:
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday (4) 10-hour days
- Monday through Friday, with weekend and on-call rotation, business hours from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.
- Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Maine
- Minimum of 1-year experience in hospice care
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle for travel between patient homes
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience caring for patients with oncology, dementia, Alzheimers, end-stage CHF/COPD, neurological conditions such as ALS, MS, or Parkinsons disease
- Additional Information:
- Orientation duration of 1-2 weeks
- Call requirement: Overnight shifts from 5 P.M. to 8 A.M., typically once or twice a month and may increase depending on staffing needs
- RTO approval required from management
- Scrub or business casual attire mandated; no specific scrub color required
- The traveler will be driving from patient to patient, with onsite parking available at the office for meetings and supplies
- Support within the department includes scheduling, clinical management, lead support, and team collaboration
- Technology and equipment include vendor-provided IV pumps and a Netsmart Electronic Medical Record system
- Float support may be necessary if census at the South Portland territory is low, supporting other agency locations as needed
- Major holidays (such as New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) may require holiday work based on assignment needs
