Job Summary
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse Billings, Montana. The role performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care; collecting and assessing health data; providing health teaching and counseling; executing delegated medical functions; and documenting care in line with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days (10 hours per shift), with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN); current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association); ability to perform nursing care, health assessment, health teaching, health counseling, and therapy and treatment planning.
- Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelors degree of Nursing; previous experience as a Registered Nurse; certification as appropriate for unit or service.
- Certifications (as appropriate for unit/service): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as appropriate for unit or service.
- Responsibilities:
- Assess and collect ongoing health data to evaluate patient health status.
- Provide therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being (directly to patients or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others).
- Execute delegated medical functions and review/monitor therapy and treatment plans.
- Provide health teaching and counseling and refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.
- Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Use resources as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
- May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
