Job Summary:
The Bronx, New York-based Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse position involves providing specialized care to post-operative patients in a high-acuity setting. Candidates are required to bring their professional license on the first day. The role requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 11.5 hours per shift, with a minimum of 34.5 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, at least two years of experience in PACU or ICU, BLS Certification (American Heart Association), and proof of flu vaccine vaccination (no exemptions or exceptions).
- Additional Information: The position involves caring for high-acuity patients, including those post-kidney transplant, neuro IR procedures, bariatric patients, and airway management cases. Candidates should be familiar with rapid assessment, airway vigilance, and managing patients with complex needs such as ventilators, vasoactive drips, and invasive monitoring. Ability to act quickly under pressure, communicate effectively with anesthesia and surgical teams, and prioritize multiple high-acuity cases are essential. Prior PACU or ICU experience is necessary, especially with ICU transitions, rapid deterioration scenarios, and neuro or transplant patient care.
