Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MedSurg) nursing in Meridian, Idaho. This position involves providing high-quality patient care on a busy MedSurg unit with a focus on total joints, orthopedic, urology, general surgeries, GYN, and medical overflow patients. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Meridian, Idaho
- Specialty: Medical Surgical Floor (MS)
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, weekends as needed, first to float
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36
- Certifications: BLS Certification; EKG certification
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Required qualifications: Must have at least 2 years of Medical Surgical experience; EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience; ability to read and interpret telemetry strips; Idaho RN license; minimum of 0 years of experience as specified; must have license to submit.
- Experience or Skills: Experience in MedSurg, EPIC EMR, telemetry interpretation, willingness to precept or take students is preferred.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week; scheduled and floated between MedSurg 5 and MedSurg 6 units, with possible floating to related units in nearby medical centers.
- Float requirements: Will float between MedSurg units and to related locations in the Treasure Valley area, including ER holds.
- Additional information: Three days of general orientation including EPIC training and meetings with educators, with subsequent online modules and two unit shifts with a preceptor. The unit has a charge nurse on each shift, virtual tele techs, and manages high-flow oxygen therapy with RTs.
- Submission requirements: Candidates permanent addresses must be outside of the 50-mile radius from the facility before review.
- Holiday & weekend requirements: May be scheduled for holidays if needed, and five weekend shifts within a six-week period.
- Shift & operational notes: No block scheduling; scheduled by the organizations scheduler; may occasionally float to ER for hold needs.
