Job Summary:
The operating room nursing position is located in Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves working in a busy operating room environment within a surgical unit that handles a variety of service lines, including trauma, orthopedics, neurology, and robotics. The candidate must bring their Iowa license on the first day. The position requires 24 months of current operating room experience, including circulating or scrub experience, and familiarity with EMR systems such as EPIC. Candidates should be prepared to float across multiple campuses and work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 24 months of current operating room experience (hospital/medical center experience prioritized), circulating and scrub experience, experience in General surgery, Davinci Robotics, Pediatrics, Trauma, Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, Ear, Nose, Throat, and Vascular procedures, EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years, active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license at the time of submission, BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I or Level II experience.
• Certifications: BLS (AHA).
• Additional Information: The traveler will be required to float across all campuses, including Iowa Methodist and Iowa Lutheran hospitals. Scrub or circulate experience is preferred. Weekend and holiday coverage from the end of shift on Friday until 6:30 am Monday is required. No first-time travelers; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months.
