Telemetry Nurse Alexandria, Louisiana. This full-time position involves providing specialized nursing care in a telemetry unit, supporting patients with cardiac conditions such as myocardial infarctions, heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease, and overflow from medical-surgical units. The role requires independent practice and demonstrates clinical expertise in a similar setting, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred); 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred; BLS certification from AHA required; ACLS certification from AHA required; RN License in state of employment or compact; Must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in telemetry or cardiac care.
• Duties and Responsibilities: Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, monitor for side effects, document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers. Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to team members.
• Additional Information: All newly hired experienced RNs must complete an organizational orientation and competency validation, including med-surg specific skills. New graduates may participate in residency or specialized orientation programs. Completion of annual competency verification is required.
• On-call and float requirements: Not specified.
• Patient Ratios: 5:1, occasionally up to 6:1.
