Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position located in San Francisco, California. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care in a busy perioperative environment across various surgical specialties, including Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, and Urology. Candidates are required to bring their California Registered Nurse (RN) license on the first day. The assignment begins on 07/21/2026.
Job Details:
- Location: San Francisco, California
- Shift Hours: 12-hour days
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license; American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; Pediatric Operating Room experience of at least 2 years; previous travel assignment experience; EMR experience with Epic; proficiency in handling blood products; comprehensive surgical skills including scrub and circulate experience across multiple specialties.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I experience; teaching hospital experience; additional certifications in circulating and scrubbing surgeries, and experience with laparoscopic and ophthalmologic procedures.
- Additional Information: Flexibility to float to other UCSF facilities, knowledge of Epic EMR, and ability to complete required immunizations, background checks, and compliance documentation prior to start.
- Schedule: 12-hour days, with minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Travel & Float: Float rotation may be required within the facility and across UCSF locations.
- Start Date: 07/21/2026.
- Facility & Patient Care: Surgical specialties include Neuro, Cardiac, Ortho, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Urology, Thoracic, Gynecology, Vascular, HemOnc, BMT, Organ Transplant.
- Certifications & Testing: Valid CA RN license; AHA BLS and PALS; completion of UCSF-specific onboarding forms, drug screen, TB tests, COVID-19 vaccination, and related compliance documentation by 07/07/2026.
