Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology (MS ONC) is needed for a unit dedicated to outpatient oncology services located in San Francisco, California. The position involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting, with a focus on managing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and supportive care for oncology patients. Candidates are required to bring their California Registered Nurse (RN) license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: San Francisco, California
- Schedule: 8-hour days with variable start times and a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: California RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and certification in chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC), APHON, CPHON, CPON, NIHSS, OCN, PALS. A minimum of 3 years of outpatient oncology experience required, with expertise in accessing/ managing ports, chemotherapy administration, radiation therapies, and related oncology procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital experience, LTAC (Long Term Acute Care) experience, trauma level I and II experience, and travel experience.
- Additional Information: Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities within a broad radius. Completed references from the most recent employer are required at the time of submission; two references needed. All candidates must have received the COVID-19 vaccination and booster unless medically or religiously exempted.
- Shift: 8-hour days with variable start times, beginning on 06/30/2026.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CHEMO (ONS/ONCC), CPHON, CPON, NIHSS, OCN, PALS.
- Skills: Managing ports, administering chemotherapy, radiation therapy procedures, patient assessment, and symptom management.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years outpatient oncology experience, with previous charge experience preferred.
- Submittal Requirements: Completed references from recent employer, proof of licensure, and vaccination documentation.
