Description
Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit Nurse position located in HILO, Hawaii. The role involves providing nursing care in a 15-bed unit that includes a Step Down Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and telemetry beds. Candidates are required to bring their Hawaii license on the first day. The position requires a commitment to scheduled 36 hours per week following orientation, with no guarantee of hours or call responsibilities.
Job Details:
- Location: HILO, HI
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- Required Qualifications: Hawaii Nursing License; at least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year; Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred.
- Certifications: ACLS preferred; current PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred.
- Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before start date to attend employee health appointment on Friday. Available to float to all acute units in house, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatric, ICU, and Emergency Room.
- Job Responsibilities: Primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, fingerstick blood sugar testing.
- Equipment Utilized: Meditech electronic charting, Pyxis medication system, BIPAP, continuous cardiac monitoring.
