Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in Springfield, Illinois. The selected candidate will provide high-quality care within an acute care hospital setting, working primarily on a Medical Surgical Floor. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Location: Springfield, Illinois
• Position / Specialty: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN)
• Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 Days (06:45 AM 07:15 PM)
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license; minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ability to work scheduled shifts; willingness to take up to 1:7 patient ratio if needed; experience with blood product administration, colostomy/ileostomy management, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, PCA, PICC line management, IV start and maintenance, surgical drain management, tracheostomy care, wound care including vacs, and skills related to airway humidification and patient mobility devices.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner experience is preferred; experience managing trach and laryngectomy patients is desirable but not required.
• Float: Float as needed within the scope of practice.
• Additional Information: Candidates should be prepared for dressing changes, drain management, suture/staple removal, NG tube insertion, central line dressing, blood transfusions, and other advanced patient care tasks.
• Special Requirements: Willingness to learn and care for trach and laryngectomy patients; flexibility to accommodate up to 1:7 ratios if necessary; must have active Illinois license and meet all vaccination requirements including flu vaccine (exemptions only for medical or religious reasons).
• Certifications: BLS is required; compliance with AHA or Red Cross certifications only.
• Experience: No minimum experience beyond the 2 years specified is required for entry; the focus is on clinical skills and ability to perform duties on a Medical Surgical Floor.
• Submission Requirements: Provide 2-3 interview times upon submission; SSN and DOB required at time of submittal; submit pending references if available.
