Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Post Partum care for a position in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The RN will provide care on a post-partum floor, managing patients with diagnoses such as post vaginal delivery and post c-section delivery. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This role involves working nights, with shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Job Details:
- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts
- Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid and active or conditional Massachusetts Registered Nurse license obtained within the last 7 days; one or more years of experience in post-partum care; current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications; up-to-date resume; 2 recent references from Charge Nurse/Manager/Supervisor matching the specialty; skills checklist matching specialty; drivers license with address matching demographics.
- Preferred Qualifications: First-time travelers accepted; travel experience preferred; lactation certification.
- Additional information: No floating required; Scrubs are provided; hospital system-wide orientation of 3 days plus 3 days on the unit; on-call not required but voluntary coverage available; flu vaccine required during the season; must work every other major holiday.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Managing patients with post vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum magnesium, postpartum hemorrhage; administering IV antibiotics, IV magnesium, PRBCs, rhogam, and lovenox; utilizing specialty equipment such as Welch Allyn blood pressure devices, Nihon Khoden monitors, venodynm machine, IV pump, panda warmer, and Medela breast pumps.
- Patient Population: Newborns consistent with postpartum patients.
