Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Postpartum Nurse on the Post Partum Floor at a healthcare facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This position involves providing acute postpartum care to patients experiencing various conditions such as post vaginal delivery, post c-section delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, and magnesium administration. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of work. The role entails working rotating shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts
- Schedule: Rotating shift hours, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); active, current, or conditional Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license obtained within the last 7 days. At least 1 year of experience in postpartum care is preferred. Candidates must have acute care experience, a valid drivers license with matching demographics, and be willing to work every other major holiday.
- Preferred Qualifications: Lactation certification and travel experience; willingness to accept first-time travelers.
- Additional Information: No float rotation is required. Scrubs are provided. Hospital-wide orientation lasts 3 days, with an additional 3 days on the unit. On-call duties are voluntary. Flu vaccine required during the season.
- Submission Requirements: Up-to-date resume including at least 1 year of postpartum experience, two recent supervisory references, a skills checklist matching postpartum specialty, drivers license with matching address, and a NURSYS Verification Report with active or conditional Massachusetts RN license. RTO must be included at the time of submission.
- Role-specific notes: The unit has 13 postpartum beds and 4 continuing care nursery beds. The patient population includes newborns.
