Description

Job Summary:
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) nurse position is based in Tacoma, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients requiring critical treatment across various medical and surgical conditions. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day. The position offers an opportunity for first-time travelers and requires adherence to facility-specific protocols and clinical standards.

Job Details:

  • Location: Tacoma, WA
  • Shift Hours: Nights: 1900-0700, Days: 0700-1900
  • Schedule: Every other weekend rotation; minimum of 36 hours per week; 12-hour shift shifts available
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Education/Degrees: Valid nursing license; two years of pediatric ICU experience preferred but not required for consideration
    • Location Requirements: Applicants must be able to work in the United States in Washington state
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
    • Prior experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) using Prismax system and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) are preferred but not mandatory
  • Additional Information:
    • Clinical skills include aseptic and sterile techniques, ventilator and trach management, chest tubes, epidurals, drips, Foley insertions, discharge procedures, and more
    • Experience in CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) and with CRRT preferred
    • Familiarity with a wide range of pediatric patient types, including respiratory, medical, trauma, and cardiovascular conditions; care up to age 30 during COVID surge is available
    • Use of the Prismax EMR system
