Job Summary: Operating Room (Open Heart) Nurse Detroit, Michigan
Operating Room (Open Heart) Nurses provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. They utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families. They also effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team and participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days; 8 shift hours; minimum 40 hours per week. Block schedule is available. Shift start times are 6:00 AM with the following options: 6:00 AM2:30 PM, 6:00 AM4:30 PM, or 6:00 AM6:30 PM (options include five 8-hour shifts, four 10-hour shifts, or three 12-hour shifts with a 6:00 AM start time). On-call is required (48 hours of call per six-week schedule) and availability is required for one weekend per month.
- Required Qualifications: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Basic Life Support (BLS) (CPR); Operating Room (OR) experience; Cardiac scrub experience.

- Additional Information: This position is for a 13-week assignment with interview completed by phone or via Teams. Start date: 06/22/2026.
