Job Summary

Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves providing critical care in a fast-paced emergency department environment, managing patients with diverse needs including trauma, pediatric, psychiatric, and urgent care cases. The RN will work night shifts, coordinate complex nursing care, and demonstrate proficiency in protocols such as NIHSS, TNCC, BLS, PALS, and ACLS.

Job Details

  • Location: Washington, District of Columbia
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of District of Columbia; ER experience of at least 3 years; graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program; BSN highly desired; Cerner experience required; must reside within 50 miles of the facility; ability to work in trauma room as bedside trauma RN and manage 1:5 patient ratios; strong skills in medication titrations, arterial lines, blood transfusions, and chest tubes.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical records systems such as Cerner; trauma room experience; advanced certifications in emergency nursing.
  • Additional Information: The emergency department handles a variety of critical and complex cases, requiring nurses to manage care that ensures safety, quality, and a positive patient experience. This role mandates flexibility to work in high-acuity environments with critical skills in life support and trauma management.
