Job Summary:
A Sterile Processing Technician position is available in Bethpage, New York. This role involves working in a busy off-site reprocessing center that provides sterile processing services for multiple healthcare facilities, including tertiary sites and ambulatory surgery centers. Candidates are required to bring their sterile processing certification and license on the first day of employment. The shift is scheduled for evenings, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with every other weekend required.

Job Details:

• Location: Bethpage, NY 11714
• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) that does not expire during the assignment; 2+ years of certified experience in a tertiary setting or 1 year of certified experience with 4 years of sterile processing technician (SPT) experience in a tertiary setting; Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds; manual dexterity; ability to stand, bend, lift, and reach for extended periods; effective communication skills in English (verbal and written); ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
• Schedule: Evenings shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM; 7.5 hours per shift; minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be able to rotate through all areas including decontamination and operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam, and ethylene oxide sterilizers. Position requires standing for long periods, adhering to safety and department protocols, and maintaining a contaminant-free environment. Scrubs are provided and must be laundered at the facility. Shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard coverings are mandatory; no nail polish is allowed.
