Description
Job Summary:
A Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) with neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience is needed in Largo, Maryland. The position involves working in a Pediatric Surgical and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting, providing specialized care to neonatal and pediatric patients. Candidates are required to bring their active Maryland (MD) nursing license on the first day of shift. This role requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Job Details:
- Position: Pediatric RN with NICU experience in a Pediatric Ped/Surg unit
- Location: Largo, Maryland
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 3 days per week, 12 hours per shift (07:00-19:30 / 19:00-07:30)
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Required Qualifications: Active MD state RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), 2 years of experience in pediatric and NICU settings, Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric or Surgical patient care, Knowledge of pediatric and neonatal procedures and equipment
- Additional Information: Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope, including to other related units as needed. Flu vaccination is required; other vaccines should be scheduled as per facility policy. Onboarding involves labs within 72 hours of signing the contract, with compliance documents due 5 days prior to start.
- Certifications: BLS, PALS (AHA only)
- Special Skills: Administration of blood & blood products, APGAR scoring, Arterial line management, Neonatal and pediatric procedures, Patient and family teaching, Tracheostomy care, Management of UAC and UVC, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Isolation precautions, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome care, Thermoregulation, Sepsis work-up and management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Suctioning, Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket).
- Experience: 2 years of pediatric and NICU experience required.
- Other details: The unit admits primarily neonatal and pediatric referrals, including respiratory management, feeding difficulties, and neonatal abstinence.
