Job Summary
A NeuroSurgical Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Neurology at a healthcare facility in Saint Louis, Missouri. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a specialized Neurosurgical unit focused on patients with neurological diagnoses or post-neurosurgery recovery. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and adherence to clinical protocols.
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care experience in Medical Surgical and Neuro units, Missouri licensure.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience is helpful but not required
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours weekly
- Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care in a Neurosurgical unit. The unit focuses on stroke, seizures, multiple sclerosis, spinal, back, and other neurological diagnoses or neurosurgery procedures. Maintains patient rights, confidentiality, and professional accountability. Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and optimize patient outcomes. The role may require float coverage within scope of practice, including potential charge nurse responsibilities.
