Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVICU) is sought for a bedside role in a healthcare facility located in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The position involves managing patients with complex cardiac conditions, including post-open heart surgery cases, acute myocardial infarctions, and patients requiring various hemodynamic monitoring and support. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: Parkersburg, West Virginia
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH)
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled
- Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA
- Consolidated Qualifications: Must have at least 2 years of ICU nursing experience, experience with fresh open heart surgery patients, CRRT, temporary pacemakers and post-permanent pacers, acute myocardial infarctions pre/post catheterization, mediastinal or chest tubes, ventilator management, hypothermia protocols, arterial lines, IABP or Impella devices, and hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with IABP, Impella, as well as reading telemetry strips.
- Experience Requirements: 0 years minimum required.
- Floats: Float rotation may be required, primarily to acute care units and ICU, with the possibility of floating to medical-surgical or telemetry units with a maximum of 6 patients per shift.
- Additional Information: Self-scheduling and block scheduling requests are permitted and often granted; schedules may be adjusted during schedule balance periods to meet unit needs.
