Certified Operating Room Tech (CST) Bellingham, Washington
The certified operating room tech supports surgical teams by preparing, maintaining, and sterilizing surgical environments and instrumentation across assigned cases. This role involves working with varied day, evening, and night schedules based on unit needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating; 10-hour shifts; minimum 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  • Current State License (proof of application for Washington state license required at time of submission; license not required to be in hand)
  • Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Experience: 3 years in operating room (OR) settings
  • Skills/case experience required: General OR, ortho, neuro, and gyn

• Additional Information:
  • Performs tasks including arranging and inventorying sterile setup, passing items to the surgical team, applying principles of asepsis, establishing and maintaining the sterile field, assisting with patient preparation and movement, and supporting clean-up and room turnover
  • Accesses computer information as needed (e.g., preference lists and digital images) and participates in safety initiatives, including SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives
  • Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation and supports surgical workflow across assigned cases
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required (medical/religious exemptions only); flu vaccination is required with no exemptions
  • Call and weekend participation: required 1 weekend and 35 days per month (mix of weekdays and evenings/nights based on unit needs)
  • Candidates may be expected to float to different units as needed
  • Two references from the last two years are required with submission, with at least one reference serving as a supervisor reference (a charge nurse reference is acceptable as a supervisor reference)
  • Submission must include required certifications and required documentation; Epic experience is requested per unit need (not specified in the posting as required)
  • Traveler statement required for any background or license hits; travelers are not accepted with more than one DUI
