Description
Pediatric Psychology Psych RN (PEDS PSYCH) Oregon City, OR
A Psych RN is needed for a short term acute care pediatric and adolescent inpatient acute crisis unit. The role includes direct patient care for children and adolescents who are medically stable, with care needs that may include acute suicidal ideation or attempts and behavioral dysregulation. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating; 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week; weekends required every other weekend
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB); Psych RN license (pending accepted as stated); prior relevant psych/behavioral patient care experience within the specialty area (travel experience required as stated); charting experience with Epic (Epic required); strong ability to support care for child and adolescent age groups
- Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience (preferred/required as stated in posting)
- Float: Float rotation within the facility and possibly to nearby affiliate facilities may be required based on unit needs
- Responsibilities: Provide nursing care for pediatric and adolescent inpatient acute crisis patients; administer medications; perform or support blood glucose monitoring; follow seclusion protocols/procedures and physical hold protocols; deliver psychoeducation as appropriate; support safe patient transportation and movement to secure rooms using the specified equipment/methods (including Humane Wrap and Hover Jack); collaborate with interdisciplinary support resources listed for the unit
- Additional Information: Candidate must have a vehicle for this assignment. Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, NYE, NYD). All requests for time off/specific scheduling must be submitted up-front during the submission process, and post-submittal requests may not be considered or granted. Candidates may be required to float to additional sister facilities nearby the contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.
- Submission Requirements: Include responses to: whether the candidate has ever worked at a Providence facility as a permanent employee, on a travel contract, or as registry/per-diem (if yes, include location and dates worked); provide 2 references covering 1 year (6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years during compliance and prior to start; references may include Charge RNs/Lead.
