Description
Oncology Medical Surgical Oncology Floor (SPRINGFIELD, IL)
This position supports adult and geriatric oncology care in an acute care hospital setting. The role includes administering chemotherapy and supporting patients with complex treatment needs, including monitoring for abnormal lab values and managing infusion-related therapies. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 Days (715-1845); minimum 36 hours per week; will work every other weekend
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois (IL) license; Basic Life Support (BLS); chemotherapy certification (Chemo (ONS/ONCC)); OCN; ONS/ONCC; administration of chemotherapy; continuous infusion of chemotherapy; IV push administration of chemotherapy; recognizing/communicating abnormal lab values; accessing and managing ports; care and management of ports; central line blood draw; central line/implanted line care; PICC line care; starting IVs; administration of coagulation factors; antifungals; antivirals; blood/blood product administration; body fluid handling post-chemotherapy; management/disposal of cytotoxic spills; oral administration of chemotherapy; monitor chemotherapy; fluency with Cerner charting (position specific); minimum 1 year experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience; charting system experience; community hospital experience; LTAC experience; trauma level experience (Level I and/or Level II)
- Additional Information: Chemotherapy administration is required. Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Will fill clinician needs by floating within scope as needed.
