Description

Job Summary:
An ICU Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Kearney, Nebraska. The role involves providing specialized care in an intensive care environment for adult patients with a variety of critical diagnoses, including trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent procedures, pacemaker placements, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress. Candidates are required to bring their licensed nursing credential on the first day. The schedule includes 12-hour shifts, with availability for self-scheduling for core staff, and the ability to work every other weekend. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Job Details:

  • Location: Kearney, NE
  • Shifts: 6:30 a.m. 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. 6:30 a.m.
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week, with minimum of 2 holidays within the contract period
  • Required Qualifications: Licensure to submit, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); at least 2 years of ICU nursing experience and a minimum of 2 holidays during the contract timeframe
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Additional Information: Hypersensitivity to artificial nails is necessary as they are prohibited in patient care areas. Candidates must pass an open book skills exam during orientation with a 90% passing score. RNs will perform tasks related to troubleshooting nasal cannula to ventilator equipment and monitoring/interpretation of cardiac strips using GE monitors. Self-scheduling is available for core staff, with travel nurses also added. Floating to PCU or MedSurg floors may occur, with patient ratios of 1:2-3 on the ICU and 1:4 or 1:5 when floating. A single shift of department-specific orientation is included, and RTO requests must be made upfront with a limit of 7 or fewer days. The facility can cancel up to four shifts during the assignment.
