Job Summary:
The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) registered nurse (RN) position is located in Everett, Washington. This Level II NICU role involves caring for neonates, including those less than 24-28 weeks gestation. Candidates are required to bring their licensed nursing credentials on the first day. The role emphasizes providing specialized neonatal care within a dynamic hospital environment.
Job Details:
- Position Type: Registered Nurse (RN) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Location: Everett, Washington
- Shift: 12-hour days
- Schedule: Minimum of 36 hours per week with scheduled start date of 07/06/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid Washington RN license or Compact RN license; minimum 2 years of experience in a Level III NICU; Certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); experience with Neonates less than 24-28 weeks gestation; proficiency in ventilation management (e.g., AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), dysrhythmia interpretation/management, feeding methods, and line management (arterial, central, umbilical artery/vein); negative drug screen and Nursys (licensing verification) not required at submission but must be provided before start; 2 references covering 1 year (or 6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years during compliance and prior to start.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
- Float: Float to Family Maternity Center/Postpartum (babies only) may be required
- RTO Restrictions: All Requests for Time Off (RTO) must be included at the time of submittal, including for major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day)
- Additional Information: Clinicians may be called off for one 12-hour shift per two-week period.
- Special Procedures/Equipment: Neonatal ventilation including conventional ventilators, oscillators, bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula; management of neonatal conditions such as Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome; use of invasive lines and medications as needed for neonates.
- Unit Details: Supports include respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and interpretive services. The daily census is approximately 23 neonates in 26 rooms with 29 beds.
