Description
Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) specialty position is located in Polson, Montana. This role involves perioperative nursing duties within a critical access facility that includes preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care. The position requires candidates to bring their license on the first day and is scheduled for eight shifts per month, with shift hours typically consisting of 8 hours per shift. Candidates must be flexible to float within surgical services as needed, including PACU, Endoscopy, and OR units.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8 shifts per month, 5 days/week, with 8-hour shifts; 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts could be a possibility.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Montana (MT) or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of submission), 2 years of experience in operating room or perioperative nursing, certification in ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and EMR experience with Epic.
- Additional Information: Candidates should be prepared to float within the facility and work in various surgical specialties, including gynecological, orthopedic, general, ENT, and dental procedures. The role involves working with all areas in the surgical department, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). The facilitys client has provided specific submission and scheduling requirements, including references and vaccination status.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in perioperative or operating room nursing.
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: Experience in procedures such as hysterectomy, appendectomy, arthroscopy, TKA, C-sections, colonoscopy, endoscopy, wound management, and therapeutic abortion is preferred.
- Additional Notes: All travelers should be prepared to float within the facility. The deployment period begins on 07/13/2026, with a compliance document deadline the Monday prior to start date. All scheduling and RTO requests must be specified upfront during the submission process.
