Description

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Rehabilitation (MS REHAB) is needed on a contract basis at a healthcare facility in New York, NY. This position involves providing compassionate, patient-centered care within a Rehabilitation Medicine environment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. The role supports the organizations commitment to relationship-centered care and quality improvement initiatives.

Job Details:

Location: New York, NY
Specialty: Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor
Schedule: Days, 11.5 hours shift, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with an Every Other Week (EOW) travel requirement of 87 miles and local travel of 84 miles
Required Qualifications: NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred) or Associate Degree in Nursing with relevant experience or active BSN program enrollment, a minimum of 2 years of rehabilitation medicine and mechanical ventilation experience, at least 2 years of RN experience, and 1 year of travel experience (not required for per diem roles)
Additional Qualifications: Experience in wound ostomy continence nursing, excellent organizational skills, proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system, and fluency in English (read, write, speak)
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with rehabilitation medicine and mechanical ventilation, EPIC experience highly preferred
Additional Information: This role involves performing charge nurse duties, coordinating with management for supplies and staffing, documenting accurately, and supporting clinical and operational excellence. The position requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to professional development, with opportunities for involvement in shared decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.
