Description
Job Summary: New York, New York Home Healthcare (Home Healthcare) Nursing (HH). The organization is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct, individualized bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients in community home-care settings. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, implementing and evaluating care plans, administering medications, supporting post-operative recovery, and educating patients and families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days (7.5 shift hours), minimum 37.5 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institute; New York State RN License and Primary Source Verification; Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA) BLS); Acute or post-acute Med/Surg experience totaling at least two (2) years, with the most recent experience within the past yeareither in a large acute care hospital setting or in a post-acute facility or acute care hospital setting; physical assessment; medication administration; wound care and infection control; IV therapy; post-operative care; patient education; and telemetry monitoring.
- Preferred Qualifications: Electronic medical record (EMR) experience with Epic (EPIC).
- Additional Information: Duties may include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals; evaluating medical information; preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications; changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs; adjusting specialized medical equipment and interpreting and recording measurements; monitoring patients vitals and reporting adverse reactions in a timely manner; collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team; maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records; and adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols. Manhattan Borough assignment is noted, and recent at-home experience (traveling to patients homes to provide care) is required; candidates must be local.
