Description

Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse position in Houston, Texas. This facility-focused role involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients in a critical care setting. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Houston, TX
  • Shift Time: Nights
  • Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Start Date: 07/06/2026
  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Required Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications. No minimum experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Additional certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is advantageous.
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Additional Information:
    • Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical/surgical pediatric patients.
    • Equipment used includes electronic medical records system (Meditech).
    • Typical procedures include cleft palate repair, appendectomy, chest tube management, lumbar punctures, seizure management, noninvasive cardiology procedures.
    • Services currently include neuro, orthopedic, general surgery, and thoracic cases such as thoracotomy, thoracoscopy, and pectus bar implants.
    • Supportive and collaborative personality fit preferred.
    • Float requirements are limited to NICU levels 1 or 2 only.
    • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs.
    • Weekends: Four weekend days every four weeks; no on-call required.
