Job Summary
Medical Surgical Float Registered Nurse (RN) Johnson City, NY. The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health through nursing care that supports the diagnosis and treatment of human response. The role includes assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, while ensuring compliance with applicable standards of practice and professional development requirements. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating, 12 shift hours, minimum 36 hours per week, every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Required Qualifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; graduate of an accredited school of nursing; experience: 5+ years Medical/Surgical (M/S) experience (for nights especially); Nursing (RN) experience of six (6) months to three (3) years; five plus (5)+ years of direct experience; collaboration; communication (verbal and written); judgment and critical thinking; organizational understanding and planning (organizing and time management); problem solving; quality; reliability; safety and risk management; management experience of zero (0) to three (3) years
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); professional certification in a related nursing specialty; relevant skills certification (e.g., Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)) as required by the home unit assigned
• Additional Information: Common diagnoses include pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure (CHF), acute kidney injury (AKI), and osteomyelitis.
