Job Summary: Surgical Technician/Operating Room Tech (ORT) Glendale, CA. This role provides assistance with patient care during labor, delivery, and recovery. Responsibilities include performing surgical scrub duties, maintaining supply levels, supporting obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) cases in the operating room, and assisting with patient care before and after surgery. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift (12 hours); minimum 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High school education/GED or equivalent; Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification (preferred); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per health care facility policy (required).
• Preferred Qualifications: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per health care facility policy.
• Responsibilities: Assists in preparation of patient rooms; opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures using aseptic technique while checking integrity of sterile packaging; assists the surgical team during operative procedures by providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner; participates in the timeout on each case; assists nursing staff in deliveries as directed by nurse, including preparation, positioning, transports, transfer, and discharge of patients; collects urinalysis (UA) specimens; applies fetal monitoring equipment; takes and records maternal vital signs, weight, height, and intake & output (I&O) measurements; performs personal care services and assists with activities of daily living; prepares, positions, transports, transfers, and discharges patients; performs other job-related duties as assigned.
