Description

Job Summary
Registered Nurse (Telemetry) Parkersburg, West Virginia. The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care on a Cardiac Telemetry unit, supporting patients with conditions that may include postheart catheterization care, CHF, COPD, arrhythmias, and post pacer placement care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

Schedule: Nights shift (12 hours) 36 hours per week minimum.
Required Qualifications: Current RN license (license required at submission); Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (AHA); ability to read telemetry strips; comfort with Cardiac Telemetry patient populations; able to perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as needed for unit requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
Additional Information: Charge nurse/house supervisor coverage is provided 24/7, and night charge may be expected to take a patient assignment depending on unit needs; weekend commitment is required on an every other weekend basis for travelers; holiday rotation may require traveler participation when unit needs require coverage; call or standby could occur if census is low, but is rare; float rotation may include assignments anywhere within the hospital (including ICU or stepdown rarely), limited to patients within the nurses skillset; unit onboarding includes 1 day of computer training followed by 1 day of floor shadowing with a preceptor, then independent work on day three; the unit is fast paced and emphasizes teamwork, with support available including a unit clerk.
