Job Summary
Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Wausau, Wisconsin. The organization is seeking an RN for a Med Surg Intermediate Care (IMCU) position providing patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with ventilator/tracheostomy support. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour day/night variables (7:00 AM7:30 PM, 7:00 PM7:30 AM); minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC); Associate Degree or Certificate; Intermediate Care Unit (stepdown/intermediate/PCU) experience (2+ years required); Ventilator/Trach experience; At least 1 prior travel experience; charting experience with Electronic Patient Records (EPIC) is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience; Trauma Level II experience; Bachelors Degree; Electronic Patient Records (EPIC) preferred.
- Additional Information: Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry; common patient types include sepsis, trauma-related alcohol detoxification, gastrointestinal bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke. Patient ratio is 4:1, including ventilator/trach stability and weaning, sepsis, and complex specialty care needs.
