Description

Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery is needed in Henderson, Nevada. The role involves providing specialized care on a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit, supporting both routine and complex cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Henderson, NV
  • Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts), first to float, with every other weekend and as needed holiday coverage
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week starting from 07/20/2026
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in labor and delivery setting
  • Required Skills: Independent and confident with vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, high-risk laboring/delivery patients, antepartum patients, reading fetal monitor strips
  • EMR System: Cerner
  • Unit Details: 17 beds including suites for C-sections, triage beds, postpartum beds, approximately 250 births per month; following AWHONN ratio guidelines; circulating and recovering own C-section patients; float to mother-baby units as needed.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Circulating and recovering own C-section patients, effective reading of fetal monitors, circulating high-risk patients.
  • Equipment & Staffing: In-house anesthesia and neonatology 24/7; telemetry monitors with remote monitoring from ICU; ancillary staff includes certified surgical techs and secretaries.
  • Scheduling: Team-based self-scheduling with a scheduling committee; orientation is 3 days for travelers.
  • Float: Yes, float to postpartum as needed.
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs, optional light blue OR scrubs.
  • Others: No call or standby requirements; nurses may be asked to float; no tele techs required as RNs will read fetal strip monitors.
  • License: Valid Registered Nurse license required for submission.
