Description
Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery) Issaquah, WA
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to support Labor and Delivery services. Responsibilities include providing clinical care across the labor and delivery continuum, assisting with high-risk deliveries, and performing patient assessments and interventions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift; 12 hours per shift; minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); AWHONN Intermediate; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (preferred); license to practice as a Registered Nurse; 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; prior travel experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Float: Float rotation may be required (Post-Partum, NICU based on skill set)
- Responsibilities:
- Circulate and support obstetrical procedures, including cesarean delivery
- Perform triage and clinical management for obstetrical patients, including sterile vaginal exams
- Support high-risk delivery care and assist with high-risk delivery activities
- Administer medications and therapies, including heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
- Manage pain assessment and management needs
- Recover post-procedure patients, including C-section recovery
- Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) as appropriate
- Utilize and manage obstetric monitoring tools, including Intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration
- Administer intravenous therapy as needed, including PCA (IV) support
- Provide wound assessment/care and support care related to wound vac needs
- Attend deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
- Support care areas including low-risk antepartum and transition nursery as assigned
- Additional Information:
- Unit uses 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Patient diagnoses include labor/preterm labor
- Submittals require 2 references covering 1 year (6 months for CNA s) within the last 3 years during the compliance process and prior to start; references may include charge/lead roles
- Modules are non-billable, with an average of 16 hours spent; completion is required pre-start and annually, with time self-reported and recorded in Workramp transcripts
