Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery) Issaquah, Washington
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery Department to support high-acuity maternal and neonatal care across labor, triage, and related perioperative services. Responsibilities include circulating for obstetrical procedures, assisting with high-risk deliveries, and providing skilled nursing care for patients requiring specialized therapies and monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to Post-Partum and NICU based on skill set.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS); Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); AWHONN Intermediate; and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Minimum 2 years of relevant experience is required. Epic (required) charting experience is required. Previous experience in Labor & Delivery is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Responsibilities:
- Administer blood and blood products and support anticoagulation therapy.
- Provide care using medications and therapies including antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy.
- Assist with high-risk delivery care and attend deliveries as assigned.
- Circulate for cesarean sections and provide recovery care for cesarean deliveries.
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients.
- Support epidural anesthesia and manage related patient needs, including epidural pumps and PCA (IV) use.
- Support intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration.
- Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and support patient monitoring and pain assessment/management.
- Provide wound assessment/care and assist with specialized procedures and equipment needs, including wound vac support and drains.
- Provide care for gynecologic surgeries and support coupled care, transition nursery, and related low-risk antepartum workflows.
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE requirements.
- Submission requirements: 2 references covering 1 year (6 months for CNA s) within the last 3 years during the compliance process and prior to start. Can include charge roles/lead modules; modules are completed pre-start, and annually.
