Description
Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Overland Park, Kansas. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Missouri or Compact state nursing license; certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); at least 0 years of experience; experience with Epic electronic medical record system.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience; community hospital experience; long-term acute care (LTAC) experience; trauma level I or II experience; travel experience preferred.
- Float: Float to other units or facilities may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Staffing & Scheduling: Other units or entities as needed, with a minimum of 8 weekend shifts every six weeks.
- Patient Ratios: 5 patients during days, nights, and weekends.
- Vaccinations: Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required.
- Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
- Patient diagnoses include sepsis, wound care, alcohol use disorder, suicidal ideation, renal failure, atrial fibrillation, gastrointestinal bleeding, stroke, and COVID-19.
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: NIH Stroke Scale.
- Special Equipment: Virtual nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell.
- Compliance: Documentation due two Fridays prior to start date; pre-start modules and EPIC training required.
